I'm Sorry Makenna

Makenna and I continue to butt heads on almost a daily basis. She is the middle one. The strong willed very independent one. The I want to do what I want when I want to one. The major issue is snack time. She just helps herself when she wants without asking even though I have told her over and over again she needs to ask me. I am really trying to give her positive reinforcement when she does ask (which is very rare).

Last week she was creating a "water" slide on their swingset with glasses of milk. And sliding down naked. I was upstairs editing photos and came downstairs to see a trail of milk from the refrigerator leading to the back door.

She also enjoys cooking. with stuff. my stuff. The other day she was making a concoction out of grapes, mike and ike candies, butter, chocolate syrup, and milk. She absolutely broke my heart last Sunday. I asked her why she continued to make messes with real food and she said "I just want to cook". I told her we needed to do this together and she said "your busy" "you're just so busy all the time". I'm sorry Makenna- I promise I will try to do better about giving you one on one time. I admit it I am busy- busy with laundry, dishes, taking care of everyone, cooking dinner, activities, trying to figure out how I'm going to make it on my own, but I promise I am never too busy for you. I love you Makenna.

oh, I totally understand how you are feeling. It is so hard sometimes to make time for the one-on-one stuff. Very sweet journaling.

I wouldn't be too hard on your self for being busy! She sounds like she is going to go far in life with her persistence! And who know, at this rate you should be expecting a gourmet bringing you breakfast in bed in 2 years ;)

Cute photos, you captured her personality!

Cheers,

Perhaps it's something about the "middle one?".. I could have written something similar about my "middle son".. I call him my "middle challenge" :).. Great post!
